1. Who we are
Tracker (“the bot”, “we”, “us”) is a Discord bot for geocachers that shows cache information, shares stats and trackables, and runs Discaching, a virtual caching sandbox that lives inside Discord.
Tracker is operated by [your full legal name or company name], reachable at [contact email].
Tracker is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Geocaching HQ, Project-GC, or Discord.
2. Accepting these terms
By inviting Tracker to a Discord server, or by using any of its commands, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, remove the bot and stop using it.
If you add the bot to a server, you confirm that you have permission to do so and that you accept these terms on behalf of that server.
3. Who can use Tracker
- You must be old enough to use Discord in your country, and at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required for a parent or guardian to consent, if that is higher).
- You must have a Discord account in good standing and follow the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
- [add any extra eligibility rules you want, e.g. a minimum account age, or remove this if you have none]
4. What Tracker is not
Tracker is not an official geocaching app. It does not log finds on your behalf, and it is not a replacement for Geocaching.com or the official apps. Any stats, badge bars or stat bars it shows are for entertainment and convenience only.
5. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- use the bot to break the law, harass anyone, or post content that violates Discord’s rules;
- spam commands, abuse rate limits, or use automation to scrape data from the bot;
- attempt to reverse engineer, overload, or interfere with the bot or the services it depends on;
- impersonate the Tracker team, or pass off Discaching content as official geocaching data;
- [any other rules specific to your community]
6. Stats and third-party data
Some features rely on outside services, such as Project-GC stat bars and badge bars, and Discord itself. Those services have their own terms and may change or go offline at any time. We do not control them and cannot guarantee that their data is accurate or always available.
You are responsible for the geocaching accounts you connect to Tracker, and for making sure you have the right to share the stats that appear in your server.
7. Discaching and user content
Discaching lets you hide and find virtual caches inside Discord. You keep ownership of the caches, logs and images you create, but you give us permission to store and display them so the bot can work.
We may remove content, or restrict access to features, if it breaks these terms, the rules of the server it was posted in, or the law. [state your moderation policy, or link to it]
8. Availability and changes
Tracker is provided free of charge, on an as-is basis. We can change, pause or discontinue features at any time, and we do not promise any particular uptime. [add any uptime or support commitment you want to make]
9. Termination
You can stop using Tracker at any time by removing it from your server. We may limit or block access, with or without notice, if we believe these terms have been broken or that the bot or its users are at risk.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent allowed by law, Tracker is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the bot, including lost data, missed caches, or interruption of service.
[have this section reviewed for your jurisdiction — liability caps and consumer rights vary by country]
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the bot after an update means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [country / state], and any disputes will be handled by the courts of [city, country].
